When is the Ball?
The Event
Every week that includes a new hire pilot class starting at the Flight Training Center, we will convene an unofficial/unsanctioned “pilots for pilots” celebration/ceremony that Wednesday evening at the Doubletree Hotel across the street. The doors open at 1730 and the ceremony will begin at precisely 1808:08, which has been determined through the ages as the appropriate time. At such time, we, meaning all present, will transfer the daunting responsibilities and “weighty” powers of the almighty 8-Ball to our newest standard bearer.
The Bottom Line
Each of us is part of three distinct legacies at United. The one we inherit when we walk through the door, the one we shape while we’re here, and the one we leave for those who follow. For those of us already here, please help us show those just arriving why it matters. To our new members, welcome to your new legacy – we’re excited you’re here, and someday, this will all be yours.
